Morecambe will wear an adapted away kit on Saturday at the Mazuma to show support for the national NHS Breast Cancer Screening programme.
The Shrimps will wear the kit, which will include the national breast cancer logo for their game against Barnsley at the Mazuma Stadium on Saturday in a move to mark the fact that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Members of the breast care staff from the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust have been invited to the game and a collection will be held to raise funds for breast cancer charities.
Rachael Willoughby, Improving Uptake Officer from the North Lancashire and South Cumbria Breast Screening Service, said: “We are really grateful to Mazuma Mobile and Morecambe Football Club for backing our campaign to encourage more women to attend screening sessions.
“It is so important that we spread the message about the importance of screening to as many people as possible and this is a fantastic way for us to get that message out there.’’
She added: “Women aged 50 to 70 (before their 71st birthday) who are registered with a GP Practice, will receive an invitation to attend for a breast screening mammogram, once every three years, through the NHS Breast Screening Programme.
“Eligible women will receive their first invitation before their 53rd birthday. Breast screening can detect breast cancer that is at an early stage when it cannot be seen or felt, and this early detection can save lives and may mean simpler and more successful treatment.

Morecambe FC co-chairman, Rod Taylor, said the Shrimps were only too happy to help.
He said: “This is such an important message for everyone. Cancer affects so many families and it is important that we, as a community club, do our utmost to support and encourage screening as we all know that can potentially save lives.
“It is a vital message for supporters to take up their screening offer or encourage their family members to make sure they attend theirs when asked.’’

It is advised that women should check their breasts regularly and contact your GP if you notice anything unusual, any changes to what is normal for you, or anything you are concerned about.
