A teenager from Morecambe will appear in the live semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent next week after receiving the famous golden buzzer.
Jordan Hicks is a member of the dance company Phoenix Boys, a group made up of members from all over the UK.
On the ITV show last weekend, BGT judge Bruno Tonioli hit the golden buzzer so hard that he smashed it, to put the group through to the live semi-finals.
Jordan and his fellow dancers will now be on ITV show, hosted by Ant and Dec and also featuring Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon on the judging panel, on one of next week’s live shows.
We’ve been chatting to Jordan, and some other members of Phoenix Boys – Daniel, Sam, Charlie and Archie.

15-year-old Jordan is a former Bay Leadership Academy and Sandylands school pupil, and trained at Elite Dance Studios in Heysham before joining Chester’s prestigious The Hammond performing arts school in September 2023.

Jordan said: ‘’ ‘’I watched my mum’s shows that she did for her dance school, and thought why don’t I try it.
‘’Most kids my age were doing some kind of sport or something, and I wasn’t doing anything.
‘’So I tried some sports but nothing really tickled my fancy so I tried this, and I found it was the only thing that I liked.
‘’Ant and Dec are exactly like they are on TV, as are the judges.''
‘’When Bruno spoke to us, it was like a big family moment, like a pep talk.
‘’Our semi-final routine is completely different. The style is different, the choreography is different, but I can’t say too much!
Phoenix Boys is a nationwide dance associate programme which currently runs in London, Manchester and Birmingham. It provides training to budding male dancers with no audition to be involved.
The Hammond offers specialist, full-time performing arts training to students across school, college and degree courses.
