A mini library for kids run by a Morecambe woman has been saved thanks to kind donations from the public.
Samantha Smith runs her Children's Community Library from a small storage shed on Ellesmere Road in Morecambe.
But the hut, which is usually full of books for children to borrow, was damaged recently by strong winds, putting the future of the library in doubt.
Thanks to an online crowdfunding campaign, more than £150 has been raised to buy a new hut.
"I am over the moon, thanks to some fabulous, generous donations we have hit our target in just a couple of days," said Samantha on the library Facebook page.
"I can't thank our donators enough!"
She said the new shed would arrive in time for the half-term holidays.
The original library had its door ripped off by strong winds and was beyond repair.
Samantha's library is very popular with young children who come along to borrow, take and swap the many books available.
Hear Samantha talking about the Children's Community Library with Tony Simon:
"The library was actually begun by a lady who lived on Balmoral Road, three or four years ago," she said.
"It started off as little crates of books outside her house, that children could come and take.
"Then she moved house. I'd visited it loads of times. I thought, we can't lose this little gem. So I volunteered to take it on.
"We are really lucky because people will give us bagfuls of books that their children have outgrown, so there is always a massive surplus of books.
"You can take as many as you want."
