Morecambe enjoyed the highest number of sunshine hours in the UK on Monday.
The Met Office reported that the town experienced 16 hours of sunshine on June 5 making it the sunniest place in the United Kingdom.
The Promenade was busy on Monday afternoon as people flocked to the beach to enjoy the continuing warm weather.
Here is the Met Office report showing Morecambe had 16 hours, topping the UK sunshine table for the day.

There was a cloudier and cooler start to Tuesday but the sunshine and high temperatures are expected to quickly return and last at least until the end of this week.
The rise has been due to the arrival of an 'Iberian plume' bringing warm air from Spain.
It occurs when a high-pressure system over the Iberian Peninsula pushes warm air northward, resulting in elevated temperatures in the UK.
Meteorologists are predicting that some of the warmest weather in the UK will continue to be in the west of England.
Morecambe's favourite son Eric Morecambe certainly has been enjoying himself in the heatwave, as after all his signature tune was 'Bring Me Sunshine'!
