Morecambe Bay will appear on television again this week as comedian Susan Calman visits on her 'Grand Day Out'.
Susan will visit Wray to find out about the annual scarecrow festival, discovers a bird sanctuary named in Eric Morecambe's honour, and will of course pop to see the statue of the legend himself on Morecambe Prom. She also did some filming at the Winter Gardens theatre and the Brief Encounter Bistro and Bar in Carnforth (see photo below).

In the show, the comic travels around the UK in her vintage camper-van 'Helen Mirren' visiting places of interest, meeting local people and trying her hand at a range of interesting activities.
Susan Calman's Grand Day Out airs on Channel 5 at 8pm on Friday June 9.

The Morecambe Bay area has featured on other popular television shows several times in recent months.
Programmes from the local area have included Michael Portillo's 'Great Coastal Railway Journeys', 'Painting Birds with Jim and Nancy Moir' and 'Myths and Legends' with Jonathan Ross.
TV crime drama series The Bay is based in Morecambe and will return for a fifth series next year.
