Families can explore Morecambe on a 'magical trail' while helping to raise funds for a charity supporting young people with disabilities.
Unique Kidz & Co has launched its 'Morecambe's Magical Trail' which invites people to follow a map between 12 stops around the town - with each one hosted by a local business offering a free activity for children.
Trail maps are available for £5, with all proceeds going to the Morecambe-based charity.
Every completed trail offers a chance to win family prizes, and the initiative will run throughout the summer holidays.

Participating are: The Midland Hotel, The Bay Double Bubble, Ralphy’s Café, The Bath Hotel, Lewis’ Ice Cream, Little Shop of Hobbies, Miogelato,. Lees Games, The Old Pier Bookshop, Don Luca Pizza, Browns Carpets and Happy Mount Park Café.
Traders at the Festival Market have also got involved to host a Bonus Magical Dragon Hunt inside the market.
Children who find all the hidden dragons will be rewarded with packs of sweets.
The trail is supported by Morecambe BID (Business Improvement District), which has helped promote it to businesses, and by Wright & Lord Solicitors, who are sponsoring the project ensuring that even more funds go directly to the charity.
David Waddington, chair of Morecambe BID, said the BID was "delighted to support Unique Kidz with this fantastic initiative for children".
"It’s a really great idea, which is affordable to access, and the use of a trail to complete across summer should mean parents and carers can bring children out into Morecambe with very little expense," said Mr Waddington.
"In turn, it also brings increased exposure to our businesses who are supporting the trail. My staff and I look forward to children having a magical experience at Miogelato, and other businesses across town!”
Natalie Goulding, director at Wright and Lord, said: “As a born and bred Morecambe firm of Solicitors, we’re thrilled to be able to give this support to our town’s local charity.”
Unique Kidz and Co was founded by two mums – Jane Halpin and Denise Armer - who couldn’t find suitable childcare for their own disabled children.
The small charity opened in 2009 with its first after school club, where 65 young people attended.
Its work includes providing afterschool, holiday and weekend clubs for children with disabilities, and daytime support for young adults with disabilities.
