A Morecambe licensee has revealed the future plans for his third pub in the local area ahead of its reopening this weekend.
David Hutton and his team will reopen the Cumberland View on Heysham Road on Friday.
David already runs the Pier Hotel and the Joiners Arms in Morecambe town centre.
The Cumberland, owned by Thwaites Brewery, has been closed since the turn of the year.
Mr Hutton said it would be open and ready in time to welcome live music from Morecambe Music Festival this weekend.
"It's a massive venue and in the future it's going to be more of a music venue, a bit like the Pier, a bit more rock-i-fied," he said.
"We're all systems go, all the staff are ready.
"It's had the kiss of life, but when the Eden Project comes it's going to get a full magnificent refurb, it's going to get all the rooms done upstairs and everything changed down the bottom.
"We've spent a few grand on it. Fresh carpets, decor, some painting, a new line-up of beers.
"It looks nice and fresh and clean and tidy. People will be amazed when they come in and see it."
A true sand grown'un, Mr Hutton was born in the Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and went to Lancaster Road Primary and Morecambe High Schools.
David had been living in New Zealand for 17 years, then after returning home, decided to apply to take over the Pier alongside other members of his family in spring 2022.
