The RNLI responded to an emergency call out following reports a person was stuck in sand in Morecambe Bay.
The Morecambe’s lifeboat volunteer crew responded to a tasking request from HM Coastguard just after 5:15 on Thursday afternoon, following a 999 call.
The Brenda Raworth D-855 lifeboat and Hurley Flyer hovercraft were both launched, with the team carrying out a thorough search of the area and speaking with many members of the public to gather more information.
Despite these efforts, the crew found no sign of the person's presence or any further evidence of the incident.
They were subsequently stood down by HM Coastguard at 8:15pm.
