The Morecambe MP has met with a government minister to discuss how Heysham Port could be upgraded.
David Morris, MP for Morecambe and Lunesdale, held talks this week with Ports Minister Lord Byron Davies about Heysham Port, at the Department of Transport in London.
The meeting was convened to explore Government funding options for Heysham Port to upgrade the facilities for the Isle of Man Terminal.
“The meeting was very productive and positive,’’ said Mr Morris.
‘’The Minister has instructed his Governmental Department to explore available funding options.”

This is the latest in a series of meetings with stakeholders in the Port of Heysham.
Recently he met with the First Minister of the Isle of Man Alfred Cannan MHK, and a few weeks ago had a meeting with Peel Ports General Manager Andrew Darnell as well as the CEO of Lancaster District Council Mark Davies.
Speaking last month, Mr Morris said: ‘’ "It’s evident that (with) the increased tourism and access to the Isle of Man is we desperately need a new terminal to reflect that," said Mr Morris in October.
"With Eden North soon to be started in Morecambe and the recent deal struck with Eden and the Isle of Man as the first nation to be awarded the UNESCO Biosphere, and the increased tourism that this will bring, we need a state of the art terminal to proudly say to our combined visitors you are going to a special destination both ways."
