A Morecambe pub will close for four weeks for a major refurbishment.

The Hurley Flyer near Morecambe Football Club will shut its doors from April 24 until reopening on May 23, according to a statement on the pub's Facebook page.

The pub, on the corner of Westgate and Christie Way, remains open in the meantime, while construction work has begun outside.

The Facebook post said there was also "more exciting news to come".

The pub is named after the Morecambe hovercraft, also known as the Hurley Flyer.
