A Young Musician of the Year competition and a Christmas market are among the new events being planned by Morecambe Town Council in 2022.
The return of the Morecambe In Bloom competition, a Halloween event, artisan markets, as well as events to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, will also be organised and funded by the council.
The town council has decided to run a programme of its own events in 2022 for the first time in many years.
Gavin Dring, the town council's community and events officer, gave an update on the planned events during the Morecambe Town Council annual town assembly on Thursday night.
He said the first two town council-run events of the year, a dinosaur-themed event in February and the Spring into Morecambe artisan market and fireworks display in March, had been "very well received".
Mr Dring said further artisan markets would take place in June, September and in December.
The December event would also include "other attractions at the same time".
Mr Dring said the Morecambe in Bloom competition would return in 2022. Entry forms are being distributed, and judging will take place in late July/early August.
Morecambe In Bloom is an event giving local people the chance to display their horticultural achievements.
Mr Dring said a Young Musician of the Year competition and a Halloween event, planned for October 30, are also in the pipeline.
He was asked whether the town council could also organise an annual Comic-Con event.
"I approached the Platform and they already had a (Comic-Con) event in place," he said.
"They go down extremely well everywhere."
Morecambe Town Council is also organising a giant promenade street party and a beacon lighting to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in June.
