Guest speakers from the music industry will inspire young people to explore a career in music at a week-long event in Morecambe.
More Music's annual arts week will welcome Elbow co-founder and lecturer Richard Jupp, journalist, TV and radio presenter, musician and author John Robb, Baz Mills from local rock band Massive Wagons, Holly Blackwell from local punk band The Lovely Eggs, Terri Chapman from Rock People Management and many more.
They will speak to young people aged 12 to 25 to advise them about the opportunities that exist for a career in the music industry, explore its environmental impact and what can be done to influence the future.
The event called Grounded - running from July 11 to 15 at More Music in Morecambe - is a week of inspiration, music, debate, masterclasses and gigs exploring environmental issues and sustainable creative career pathways in the North West.
With a jam-packed programme, the event organised by the More Media Collective provides a platform for young people to be creative, perform and connect.
A More Music spokesperson said: "This is my favourite week of the year at More Music, because all the events have been organised by young people for young people.
"It’s an amazing opportunity for anyone interested in a career in the music industry to meet professionals, get some advice and explore the many opportunities and career pathways that exist.
"I’m also very inspired by the action that More Media Collective have been taking to educate themselves about the climate emergency and how the music industry can address this. We have some leading experts in the field coming to the discussion day on Wednesday July 13 and we welcome everyone to come and join the conversation at 1pm."
