A new centre to support Armed Forces veterans is set to open in the West End of Morecambe.
Healthier Heroes will hold a grand opening for their new Armed Forces Veterans & Families Community Hub on March 1 at 4pm.
The hub is located at 1 Alexandra Road in Morecambe and will serve as a vital resource for veterans, their families, and the wider community.
Healthier Heroes CIC is based in Burnley, and provides support to ex-service personnel, their families and carers who are struggling with an array of complex requirements and support, as well as members of the NHS and other blue light services.
The support offered to service users includes housing, education, employment, tackling isolation and health and wellbeing.
"The hub aims to foster a sense of belonging, offer guidance on transitioning to civilian life, and address the unique challenges faced by the armed forces community," said a spokesperson for Healthier Heroes CIC.
"By bringing people together, the hub will create a supportive environment where individuals can thrive and build a brighter future.
"Please feel free to come down and take a look around the building and meet some of the team.
"We will hopefully have the Lord Lieutenant of Lancashire, the High Sheriff and the Mayor or Lancaster opening the event.
"It feels fantastic to see this dream take shape! And what a view we have to look out over the Bay too from the main entrance."
Healthier Heroes CIC will be working with two other Armed Forces support projects in Morecambe - the Bay Veterans Association based in the Arndale shopping centre, and the Morecambe Football Club Community Foundation veterans scheme.
On Wednesday, Andy Powell from Healthier Heroes CIC attended the regular veterans breakfast with Bay Veterans Association, where they discussed their upcoming collaboration and the vital work they will be doing to support those in Morecambe and Lancaster.
"It’s thrilling to be partnering with both Morecambe FC in the Community veterans group and Bay Veterans to deliver much-needed services for veterans, especially those with complex needs," said a Healthier Heroes spokesperson.
"Together, we’ll be supporting their social inclusion activities, breakfast clubs, and various community initiatives.
"Making a real difference in the lives of so many. It’s going to be an incredible journey ahead!"
