A new chief has been appointed to take charge of the plant collections inside the planned new Eden Project Morecambe.
Peter Jones is the new Director of Horticulture at the Eden Project charity.
Mr Jones will direct the horticulture for the new Eden Project in Morecambe which will include plant collections themed on the Morecambe Bay environment.
He will take charge of a 50-strong Eden Project horticulture team.
This team manages and tends the plant collections in the world-famous Rainforest and Mediterranean Biomes at Eden's Cornwall attraction, as well as more than eight hectares of outdoor gardens, an enormous 72-hectare outer estate and Growing Point, the Eden Project’s groundbreaking new plant nursery which is heated by deep geothermal energy.
Mr Jones (pictured below) has joined Eden after 19 years at the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), most recently as Garden Manager for the Hardy Ornamental department at RHS Garden Wisley in Surrey.

The Eden Project Morecambe is earmarked for 4.8 hectares of land on the central promenade in Morecambe, near the Midland hotel, and is due to open in 2028.
The mixed-use complex will be housed in shell-like domes and will combine indoor and outdoor attractions, themed around Morecambe Bay.
