Morecambe Town Council has elected a new chair.
Councillor Clark Kent was voted in at Thursday night's meeting of the full council at Morecambe Town Hall.
He replaces Councillor Russell Walsh, whose year as chair had come to an end, and did not stand for re-election.
Councillor Kent, who represents Heysham North, is a member of the Morecambe Bay Independents (MBIs) who was elected to the council in 2023.
His MBI colleague Councillor Lee Bradbury, of Bare ward, has been elected vice-chair.
Labour's Councillor Joanne Ainscough, of Harbour ward, was also nominated for chair and vice-chair, but Councillors Kent and Bradbury received more votes.
Councillor Walsh, who was recently elected to Lancashire County Council as Morecambe North councillor for Reform UK and is a town councillor for Bare North, said it had been "an honour and a privilege" to serve as chair.
The MBIs have 12 seats on the council, Labour has seven, the Liberal Democrats five, with one independent and one Reform.
