Work is under way on a new Poundstretcher discount store in Morecambe's Arndale shopping centre.
The new shop will open in the former Poundland unit which has been empty since towards the end of last year.
The new Poundstretcher will open on Friday April 28 at 10am.
Established in 1981, Poundstretcher is a variety discount retailer for household products, food and drinks, everyday essentials and electrical goods.
Its fellow discount store chain Poundland moved into the former Home Bargains unit in the Arndale in November 2022.
Work was taking place on the new Poundstretcher on Monday (see below).

A grand opening will take place on April 28 including a ribbon cutting, games and activities with a local entertainer, shopping vouchers up for grabs, and a charity trolley dash on behalf of Morecambe's West End Impact starting at 9.30am.
"The team is working hard to deliver an outstanding shopping experience, great service, and an enjoyable shopping environment for all our new and returning customers," said Gerry Loughran, property director.
"We are expecting massive queues for our opening day specials, including an action-packed morning, so come early to not miss out!"
Here is an example of a Poundstretcher store.

The Arndale (pictured below) is owned by New River REIT who bought the 51-year-old centre in 2014 in a deal worth £14m.
In 2022 they put the shopping centre up for sale.
Beyond Radio asked New River REIT earlier this month if the centre was still for sale or if it had been sold.
A New River REIT spokesperson said they still owned the shopping centre and had no further comment to make.
