An Olympic gold medallist will return to his former school in Lancaster to help celebrate its 50th birthday.
Jason Queally MBE, who took gold in the 1km time trial cycling at the Sydney games in 2000, attended Caton Primary School as a boy.
The cycling champion has been invited back for a special open event on Saturday October 5 to celebrate 50 years of the school.
He last returned to the school in 2007 to help open its new sports hall.
Jason, now 54, is pictured below during his time as a pupil at Caton Primary School. He is on the back row, third from left. His teacher was Dawn Newman.

Past pupils and staff are invited to join in the celebrations, which will include tours of the school at 10.30am, 11.30am and 12.30pm.
Morecambe Brass Band will perform at 11am and Jason Queally will speak at noon, when local artist Chas Jacobs will also unveil a specially commissioned painting.
There will be cream teas served, an exhibition of the school past and present, and archery and Forest School activities.
The school's first ever head teacher, Ron Freeland, has also been invited to attend.
It runs from 10.30am to 1.30pm.
