A pedestrian was taken to hospital in a critical condition after a hit and run in Morecambe.
Police are looking for the driver of a black Hyundai i30 after a fail-to-stop road traffic collision on Tuesday afternoon.
"At 2.38pm today (16th December) the North-West Ambulance Service informed us about a fail-to-stop collision which happened on Oxcliffe, Morecambe, and involved a black Hyundai i30 car and a pedestrian," said a Lancashire Police spokesperson.
"The male pedestrian has been taken to hospital in a critical condition.
"Work is ongoing to locate the driver of the Hyundai.
"A road closure is in place and is likely to remain so for some time. We would ask motorists to find alternative routes."
Police said they'd closed Ovangle Road from the traffic lights at Asda up to and including Mellishaw Lane - with no access from Heysham bypass to Oxcliffe Road. They advised that traffic should continue down the bypass.
Anyone with information or footage is asked to call police on 101 and quote log 743 of 16th December 2025.
