Person rescued after falling down embankment in Wennington

A person had to be rescued after falling down embankment in Wennington yesterday afternoon.

Emergency services were called out to Bentham Road, just after 1:30pm.

Three fire engines from Lancaster and Hornby, along with one fire engine from North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, attended the incident.

Firefighters used rope packs and a stretcher to rescue the casualty who had fallen down an embankment, before they were left in the care of North West Ambulance Service.

Crews were at the scene for around two hours.
