New images of how the inside of the Eden Project Morecambe might look were revealed to hundreds of visitors at a special two-day event.
People who attended Eden's 'Rhythm Makers' at the Morecambe Winter Gardens were able to hear from and speak directly to the Eden Project team, participate in workshops and see the latest design imagery for the project.
Exciting new artist's impressions show visitors to the new attraction journeying through treehouses, across suspended walkways, and into 'mysterious interactive burrows and caves'.
More information was also revealed, some of it for the first time, on what visitors to the Eden Project Morecambe can expect.
Attractions inside the new Eden Project Morecambe will include:
- Two worlds located inside large domes - The Realm of the Moon and The Realm of The Sun
- A 'hyper-real tidal beach speeding up days, times and seasons'
- Vertical and floating landscapes, treehouses, fantastical play structures, suspended walkways, ravines, and mysterious interactive burrows and caves; and a lush-planted landscape of the future where humans live and thrive as part of nature
- A year-round cultural hub including early morning yoga, daytime shows, evening events and night-time parties
- Spaces for special events and conferences, schools and higher education
- Changing experiences across the daytimes and evenings so 'no two visits are the same'
- Food and retail aligned to the rhythms of the day and year
- Outdoor landscapes hosting storytelling, beautiful planting, trails, play and the Eden Sessions concerts with big names from music
- Seasonal programmes, workshops and challenges, artworks and exhibits

Attendees also had the chance to co-create some of the exhibits and visitor experience of Eden Project Morecambe, and share their stories of life in Morecambe Bay, at the free public gathering held at the theatre on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The event was called Rhythm Makers in reference to the theme of nature’s rhythms.
Construction is due to begin on the new £100m attraction on the central Promenade later this year. Eden Project Morecambe is due to open for small-scale community-focussed test events in 2026 with a full opening in spring 2027.
Si Bellamy, the Eden Project’s chief transformation officer (pictured below), said: “It has been incredible to meet the community for what has been an enriching and informative two days of co-creation. There have been some amazing collaborative conversations taking place and the team have been inspired by the fantastic stories shared by the people of Morecambe.
“We are excited to take what we have learned from Rhythm Makers away with us as we continue to shape the Eden Project Morecambe experience and we would like to offer our sincerest thanks to everyone who came along to the event over the two days."
An Eden spokesperson said the Rhythm Makers will be an ongoing programme of co-creation, running throughout the period before construction, including a series of similar invite-only sessions for specific community groups.
Later this year, a further open public event will be held to let people know how their ideas have shaped the design of the Eden Project Morecambe experience.
The landmark Eden Project Morecambe (artist's impression pictured below) will continue the Eden Project’s mission of connecting people to the natural world, celebrating the unique environment of Morecambe Bay.
It will be located on the former site of the Bubbles/Dome/Super Swimming Stadium leisure complex with the Grade II* listed Winter Gardens and Midland Hotel its near neighbours.
Eden Project Morecambe will cost £100m, £50m of which has been secured from the UK Government’s Levelling Up Fund. The remaining £50m will be sourced from private and philanthropic funds.
Si Bellamy told Beyond Radio this week that he expected the full funding package for the new Eden to be in place "by the middle of summer, if not before" and for work to start on site "towards the autumn, early part of winter" this year.
The project is being delivered in partnership with Lancaster City Council, Lancashire County Council and Lancaster University. Projected annual visitor numbers are 740,000, and the project will directly create 300 high-quality green jobs, with an additional 1,000 new jobs supported in the region.
