A tower crane is set to be dismantled as work continues on 388 new student flats on the Lancaster one-way system.
A road lane closure is in place on Parliament Street between September 23 and 27 to allow for the safe dismantling of the crane which has been used as for building work on the new student blocks nearby.
The single lane closure means that buses coming into Lancaster city centre from Morecambe are diverting via Bulk Road.
Planning permission was granted in November 2022 for the new flats near Bulk Road, Parliament Street and Caton Road.

The application by Primus Property Group (PPG) Lancaster was to knock down a former carpet store and car wash and build an eight-storey building and a six-storey building to house new studio flats for students.
The carpet shop and car wash were demolished towards the end of last year and work to build the new accommodation has been taking place over the past weeks.
The new complex will be opposite the Caton Court student village, which was built on Bulk Road in 2018.
Work is continuing on the new student block, see below (photo taken September 24 2024).

Here are more photos of work on the site, taken in April 2024.
