Exciting plans are in place for a new building in Lancaster 'designed by young people and for young people' where they can 'escape' and be creative.
Lancaster-based charity Escape2Make is planning the building as a place where youngsters can 'escape' from the pressures of daily life to "make things, make friends and make a difference".
Escape 2 Make hopes this new 'hub' can be built in the Canal Quarter area of Lancaster.
Kyle McKenzie, production executive at Escape2Make, popped along to the Beyond Radio studio to talk about the plans.
LISTEN HERE to Kyle McKenzie talking about plans for the Escape2Make building:
"Our goal is to have an Escape2Make building," said Kyle.
"We're talking about a building that is fully designed by young people for young people - a hub where young people can go after school, and can call a second home, and can go to to find other like-minded young people, and also a space where we can host all of our workshops.
"We need this building to be a home for lots of different kinds of opportunities.
"Young people have helped design plans for the new building alongside architecture experts and youth workers from all over the country.
"Someone from the Eden Project is gathering all the designs and making concept boards for the building. They will be ready very soon, we're very excited to show them off.
"This building, we're aiming high. We've got plans in place, we've got people who want it, it's going to happen, it's just a matter of when."
Young people worked on the designs at a recent Escape2Make 'away day' at Lancaster Castle (pictured below).

Escape2Make runs a regular series of workshops for young people aged 11 to 18, including a film club, press club and yoga club.
"The idea is to get them away from their screens for a little while, away from the pressures of social media, or away from whatever's bothering them, give them the opportunity to escape, and we do that in a creative way," said Kyle.
"It's about escaping from the real world for a little while and putting your energy into making something."
