
Emergency services are at the scene after a lorry overturned on the M6 near Lancaster.
The motorway was shut on Tuesday morning between Junction 34 at Lancaster and Junction 35 at Carnforth.
There was also a large fuel spillage.
A National Highways spokesperson said that Lancashire Police and North West Ambulance Service were at the scene, along with National Highways officers to help with traffic management.
"We were called at 2.26am today to the northbound carriageway of the M6 between junctions 34 and 35, to a report of a road traffic collision," said a Lancashire Police spokesperson.
"Our officers attended and found that an HGV had overturned and collided with the central reservation. No other vehicle was involved.
"The driver of the HGV suffered arm and rib injuries and was taken to hospital.
"It is anticipated that the northbound carriageway will be closed for some time while resurfacing and repair work takes place."

There was heavy traffic and diversions in place via the A6 through Slyne and Carnforth.
Road users are being advised to exit the M6 at Junction 34, then at the traffic signals turn left onto the A683, then follow the A683 through Caton, Claughton, Hornby, Melling, Tunstall and Nether Burrow. At the junction with the A65 turn left towards Kirkby Lonsdale, and proceed along the A65 past Kirkby Lonsdale through the village of Lupton.
National Highways: North West said the M6 was also closed northbound between Junction 36 and 39 for planned works, and lane 3 was also closed on the southbound motorway between Junction 35 and 34.
Stagecoach bus company said their 555 (via M6) and 755 service would not operate for the rest of Tuesday, and services 5, 49, 55 and 51 were subject to heavy delays and cancellation following the incident.
