Police are investigating after a burglary at a popular ice cream parlour on Morecambe Prom.
Lewis's ice cream and coffee shop was broken into overnight on May 17 and 18.
Detective Inspector Adie Knowles, speaking on Beyond Radio's 'Beyond the Beat' on Tuesday, said: "There has unfortunately been a bit of a re-emergence of a trend we had a few months ago of business burglaries in Morecambe.
"Unfortunately Lewis's ice cream parlour, overnight into May 18, somebody has kicked the back door in to the premises, caused quite a bit of mess and stolen some food items.
"If anyone sees anything suspicious on Morecambe Prom, around businesses, people scoping properties out or trying to force any windows and doors, ring it in on 999.
"If anyone witnessed anything near Lewis's on the 17th into the 18th please call us on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."
A post on the Lewis's Ice Cream and Coffee Shop page on May 18 said: "Unfortunately we have had a break in last night and they have made a terrible mess."
Later, another post said: "After a long morning of cleaning and getting ready to re-open we have had fantastic customers and lots of love and support, thank you Morecambe! We really couldn’t do it without all our lovely customers supporting us."
