Police are urging owners of motor scooters to check their security after an increase in theft in South Lancaster.
In the latest incident, officers are appealing for any information regarding the theft of a scooter which was stolen outside an address on Slaidburn Drive over the last couple of days.
The vehicle was a white Honda NSS Forza 125 moped which has since been located submerged in the beck on Hala playing fields off Abbeystead Drive.
A spokesperson said: ‘’We urge you to ensure your vehicle's are secured and safely stored overnight.
‘’Try not to leave motor scooters on view where possible.
‘’If you have any information please call 101.’’
