A man has died in hospital after being found in need of medical attention in Morecambe town centre on Christmas Day.
Police officers tried to help the man after coming across him while on patrol near the Arndale shopping centre at around 4.25pm on Wednesday.
"Officers performed CPR on the man until the ambulance service arrived," said a police spokesperson.
"Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of emergency services, a man in his 50s later died in hospital.
"Our thoughts remain with his loved ones at this difficult time."
The car park toilet block near the Arndale remained cordoned off by police on Thursday morning.
The man's death is currently being treated as unexplained and police said enquiries are ongoing.
