A thrilling day of soapbox racing that pulled huge crowds to a Lancaster park last year will not return to the city in 2024.
Krazy Races made a smash hit debut at Williamson Park in September 2023 as crowds gathered to enjoy the thrills and spills of competitors racing down a track in home-made karts.
But organisers told Beyond Radio they had no plans for a follow-up event in Lancaster in 2024.
However, Krazy Races have not ruled out a return to Lancaster in 2025 as they have been "overwhelmed" by popular demand after last September's successful debut, and are looking for help to make a comeback to the city next year.
The event, which took place on September 17 2023, saw teams race three times down a track from the Butterfly House to the bottom of the Ashton Memorial. Then the Top 10 fastest raced one final time to decide the winner.
There were some spectacular prangs during the event (see below and our main photo).

Cockerham Krazy Cows - a team of men dressed in cow-themed fancy dress - were crowned winners.

Other teams included a squad of people dressed as characters from the film Toy Story, an outer space-themed kart and a 'tank' driven by members of the Duke of Lancaster Regiment.
Krazy Races have announced events for 2024 in Crewe, Lincoln, Wolverhampton, Shrewsbury, Warrington and Stockport.
