Morecambe late-night venue Popworld will be revamped into a function room called The King's Quarters, it has been revealed.
The change is part of a drive to bring back the popular Friday and Saturday nights downstairs at the Kings Arms pub, with guest DJs and a brand new sound system planned.
Popworld opened above the Kings on Marine Road Central in 2018.
Chris Berry, landlord of the Kings, said: "There isn't much night-time trade at the moment at weekends for Popworld.
"We're looking to change it into a function room and it's going to be called The King's Quarters."

"So many people tell me how great the Kings was, so we're looking at bringing those times back," said Chris, who took over the pub with partner Zoe Read nine months ago.
"Kings is back every Friday and Saturday now, with DJ Gaz. We've got loads of guest DJs lined up for next year. We're just in the process of having a new sound system put in downstairs. It's been custom-built and it's going to be fantastic.
"We've got lots of events lined up for next year. We've got a free event on New Year's Eve with Drum 'n' Bass by the Sea, so we want to work with the community. It's looking very positive for the Kings."

The pub has also launched a Christmas toy appeal. See our story here and photo of Chris Berry with Sandra McClinton from the Kings.

Popworld opened above the Kings in 2018 with an appearance by reality TV duo and pop stars The Cheeky Girls.
Previously the room was a sports bar with TVs and pool tables, and was operating as a function room before that.
The late-night Popworld brand is run by Stonegate Group - who also own the Kings - with bars all over the UK.
It describes itself as "a late-night bar with a difference – we are cheese with style! - playing all of the cheesy pop tunes customers want to hear."
