A fly-past by the world famous Red Arrows has been announced for Armed Forces Day in Morecambe.
The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows, is one of the world's premier aerobatic display teams.
They will fly over Morecambe Bay at 5.56pm on Saturday June 21 as the finale to a day of celebrations of our Armed Forces and blue light services.
The addition of the Red Arrows comes after a planned display by the Battle of Britain Dakota plane had to be cancelled.
"Due to unforeseen circumstances the Dakota has been cancelled, however, due to the tenacity of one of the volunteer committee members, they were able to attain the Red Arrows for a fly-past this year," said Flt Lt Kris Bishop, chair of Lancaster and Morecambe Armed Forces Day committee.
"They will be flying over Morecambe Bay, heading towards the central Promenade from Northern Ireland, at 17.56 on Saturday."
Last year estimated crowds of 20,000 enjoyed the Armed Forces Day celebrations including a display by the RAF Falcons parachute team, who landed on the beach near the Stone Jetty.
The RAF Falcons will return this year with a display at 3.30pm on Morecambe South Beach (near the Midland).

There will also be a display by The Red Devils, the Army parachute display team, at 5pm.
Armed Forces Day will begin at 10am, with activities in the central Promenade area.
There will be a motorbike parade from the Bay Arena to the Battery and back, starting at 11am.
Then, there will be an Armed Forces, veterans and blue light services parade from 11.30am, starting in the central Promenade area and marching to the Bay Arena.
This will be followed by a drumhead service at noon in the Bay Arena, and post-parade refreshments and a performance by the Lancashire Belle in the Platform from 1pm.
Other performances on the day will come from Samba Espirito samba drumming band, Beyond Radio's own Matilda Walden, the Accrington Pipe Band and the Bay Singers.
The Army, Navy, RAF, parachute regiment, police, fire and ambulance will all be attending, as will local veterans organisations.
There will be STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) activities for young people and 1940s music at the Platform for Forces veterans.
Displays will be on the central Promenade and gardens, as well as the Midland hotel car park.
The Beyond Radio team will be there on the day, with announcements provided by Greg Lambert.
Armed Forces Day is supported by Morecambe Town Council as major sponsor, and Lancaster City Council.
All displays are weather dependent.
There will be a road closure on Marine Road Central from 9.30am until 7pm on Saturday, from Northumberland Street to the Aldi roundabout.
Here is the full line-up with timings.
