Renewed appeal to find missing man believed to be heading towards Lancaster

Connor Askins

Police have renewed an appeal to help find a missing man who was believed to have been heading towards Lancaster.

Connor Askins, 23, was reported missing after being last seen in Blackpool around lunchtime on August 28.

Later that day at around 7.30pm, there was a further sighting of him on Fleetwood Road, Greenhalgh, near Ingdale Farm.

The current last sighting police have of Connor was outside the Italian Orchard, off Whittingham Lane in Broughton, Preston, at around 11:50am on Sunday.

"We have had a number of reported sightings of Connor and we now believe he is travelling north towards Lancaster, using the A6 as a general guide," said a post on the Lancaster Area Police Facebook page on August 31.

"Connor was initially seen wearing a hospital gown but has obtained numerous items over recent days, including a grey/blue shirt and black coat, and black shoes

"We now believe he is also now wearing grey jogging bottoms and is also carrying a bag.

"Please take a close look at Connor’s face in this image, as he could have changed his clothing again.

"Connor is described as 5ft 6in with dark hair and blue eyes.

"We believe Connor may have links to Penrith and Hackney, London.

"Enquiries to locate Connor and make sure he is safe are ongoing. We believe he is used to sleeping outside or is potentially sheltering in outbuildings or a tent.

"We would ask people, particularly those who live in rural locations or those out walking, to remain vigilant and report any immediate sightings of Connor to us by calling 999.

"It is really important you do this as soon as you possibly can, so we can quickly attend that location and make sure Connor is OK."

Detective Inspector Adie Knowles, of Lancaster Police, made another appeal for information to help find Connor, during his regular Beyond the Beat segment on Beyond Radio on Tuesday night.

If you have information, or CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage which captures Connor, please call 101, quoting log 0364 of 28th August 2026.
