Police are appealing for information

Police are appealing for information after a pedestrian was knocked down by an e-biker in Morecambe who failed to stop at the scene.

The pedestrian suffered facial injuries in the collision near the Trimpell Sports and Social Club on Out Moss Lane.

The incident happened at around 1.30pm on Wednesday August 29.

Police said an electric bike travelling on Out Moss Lane from the direction of Hampsfell Drive, turned on to the cycle path next to the Trimpell in the direction of Westgate and was in collision with two pedestrians.

Both pedestrians were knocked to the floor, and the rider of the electric bike left the scene without stopping.

"One of the pedestrians suffered facial injuries and she has since undergone surgery," said a Morecambe Area Police spokesperson.

"As we investigate the collision, we are appealing for any witnesses who haven’t yet spoken to us, to get in touch.

"We know there were people in the area, and we want you to get in contact if you saw the collision happen or the electric bike leaving the scene.

"If you have dashcam footage from the area or CCTV footage from the Hampsfell Drive and Outmoss Lane/Westgate area, again please get in touch."

Please contact 101, quoting log 0652 of August 19th.
