Events in the local area planned to take place over the Bank Holiday Weekend have had to be called off due to forecasts of thunderstorms and heavy rain.
The Heyshambury festival in Heysham village and a 'Beer and Bounce' event at Pyes Mill Hotel near Lancaster have both been cancelled.
Many other events throughout the country have fallen victim to the expected wet weather over the coming days.
"Unfortunately, I have some very disappointing news to bring, due to the weather warnings going in place from tomorrow with thunderstorms and rain through the weekend, we have had to make the safe decision to cancel this years Heyshambury," said a post on The Royal, Heysham Facebook page on Thursday.
"After bringing it back last year and seeing our amazing guests enjoy the weekend, we were extremely excited to bring you a bigger and better one this year over bank holiday.

"We do though have to be responsible and realistic with the weather forecast and guest, staff and performers' safety must always be a priority.
"We have organised the brilliant Matt Appleton to play inside on Saturday 29th, 9pm to 10:30pm and are just waiting on confirmation from an act inside on Sunday 8:30pm to 10:30pm, so we can still have fun this bank holiday.
"As much as we’d love to, we can’t control the weather and I want to thank all our performers for being fantastic throughout the planning of Heyshambury 2026.
"I can assure all our guests I will be bringing plenty of big weekends, live music and even the possibility of a winter festival this year to The Royal to make up for this unfortunate cancellation and do apologise for any inconvenience.

A post on the Pyes Mill Hotel page said: "It is with great disappointment that we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Beer & Bounce event on Sunday 30th August at Pyes Mill Hotel.

"Due to the ongoing weather issues and current weather warnings, we do not feel that it would be responsible or safe for us to continue with the event as planned.
"We are incredibly upset to have to make this decision, as a lot of work and planning has gone into the event and we were really looking forward to welcoming you all. However, the safety of our guests, staff, performers and everyone involved must always come first, and we simply cannot take any unnecessary risks when it comes to public safety.
"We sincerely apologise for the disappointment and inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.
"The good news is that 1740 Bar & Kitchen will still be open throughout the Bank Holiday weekend, serving up delicious food, tasty drinks and a warm Pyes Mill welcome.
"So, although Beer & Bounce won't be going ahead, we'd still love to see you over the weekend for a bite to eat or a few drinks with us.
"We will also be adding more tribute nights, live music and special events to our calendar over the coming months, and we would love to welcome you to Pyes Mill at one of these future events.

After weeks of hot weather and high temperatures, many parts of the UK are now experiencing heavy rain with some weather warnings being issued, and many bank holiday events around the UK have been cancelled.
The Met Office forecast for the Lancaster and Morecambe area is a dry and bright start on Saturday, but turning increasingly cloudy from mid morning with outbreaks of rain; then unsettled from Sunday to Tuesday with heavy and thundery showers.
