A talented schoolboy has won a competition to help design an annual calendar promoting the beauty of Morecambe.
Maxwell Harrison from Westgate Primary School won the Morecambe BID competition to come up with designs for this year's BID calendar on the theme of 'what Morecambe means to me'.
Earlier this year the BID (Business Improvement District) asked primary school students to get their artistic heads on, grab their pencils and paintbrushes, and come up with designs for the calendar they release each year.
The kids were asked to draw or paint their favourite Morecambe scene and the BID received more than 50 quality entries which had to be whittled down to just 12, with one overall winner.
Each monthly winner will receive a £50 voucher from a Morecambe business and as the overall winner, Maxwell will also receive a specially-commissioned wooden bench for his school.
The bench has been hand made by Rick Liles from Woodies Woodcraft, a local firm using only sustainable timber from the local area.
Here is a design by Maxwell.

“We were thrilled to receive so many entries from our young talented artists in primary schools across the area," said Ruth Wilkinson, chair of Morecambe BID.
"This year we wanted to ask our young people what Morecambe meant to them, and to see a wide variety of entries, landmarks, beaches and mountain scenery across the Bay was just great.
"Congratulations to everyone who entered, we hope to see more next year!”
The calendars are available from selected businesses in Morecambe for just £2.
Businesses where people can buy the BID Calendar are: Briggs Shoes - Marine Rd, Rita's Cafe - Marine Rd, The Old Pier Bookshop - Marine Rd, Beach Bird - Marine Rd, Little Shop of Hobbies - Pedder St, Prestige Beauty - Pedder St, Morecambe Heritage Centre - Arndale Centre, Gift and Souvenir Shop - Festival Market, Bay Cafe - Queen St
Morecambe BID is an independent body representing businesses within the Morecambe town centre area.
