The main roundabout at the gateway to Morecambe will close for road resurfacing works.
The Shrimp Roundabout will be closed from October 8 to October 18 from 8pm to 5am each day, or until work is completed.
Signs are up near the roundabout and the surrounding area to advise motorists of the impending closure.
A Temporary Traffic Regulation Order from Lancashire County Council, says the closure will cover "the full circumference of the main roundabout on B5321 Lancaster Road, Morecambe, at its junction with the Northwest Junction of Lancaster Road, Morecambe; and the junction with B5321 Lancaster Road, Morecambe; and the junction with A589 Broadway, Morecambe; and the junction with Hall Drive, Morecambe, and the junction with the Easterly junction with B5321 Lancaster Road and A589 Morecambe Road, Morecambe".
It will also cover "Westgate, Morecambe from outside property no.8 on Westgate Morecambe to its junction with the main roundabout on B5321 Lancaster Road, Morecambe".
Works are weather dependent and may be carried out on any of the dates specified.

Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible and pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained, said the county council.
An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via A589 Morecambe Road – A683 Bay Gateway – A589 Middleton Road – A589 Heysham Road – A589 Marine Road West - A589 Marine Road Central – A589 Marine Road East – (A589 Broadway) – A5105 Marine Road East - A5105 Coastal Road – A5105 Marine Drive – A6 Slyne Road – A6 Main Road – A6 Lancaster Road – A6 Bay Gateway – A589 Morecambe Road and vice versa.
The road works follow a recent major road resurfacing project on nearby Lancaster Road, Torrisholme, which was closed for almost three weeks in August.
