Stop signs finally installed at Lancaster accident blackspot

New Stop signs have been installed to improve safety at a dangerous Lancaster crossroads.

The new red stop signs, replacing the former Give Way signs, are now in place at the Hazlerigg Lane, Blea Tarn Road, Littlefell Lane, Proctor Moss Road crossroads, just south of Scotforth.

The new signs had been promised following a number of accidents and near misses in the area, and were first proposed in summer 2023, after a consultation between the county council and Lancashire Police.

The road is often used as a ‘rat run’ by motorists trying to avoid the A6.
