Residents who are worried about major changes to bin collection services can air their views at a series of 'Street Meets'.
Lancaster City Council is holding the 'Street Meets' at several locations across the Lancaster & Morecambe District to help people in areas identified as having challenging waste service access - such as terraced houses.
The aim is to find solutions for those who do not have space to accommodate the changes or who use communal bin stores and bring-sites.
The Street Meets give residents the chance to meet with council officers prior to the delivery of new recycling wheelie bins to discuss whether they qualify for alternative containers, such as smaller wheelie bins, communal bins, or to remain on green boxes.
Officers will demonstrate the bins that are available and answer any questions on the upcoming changes or about the items you can recycle.
Council officers are scheduled to visit Lancaster this week, followed by Heysham and Morecambe next week.
This comes as new wheelie bins are being delivered to residents across the District in the first phase of controversial plans to alter waste recycling.
The council says the changes will make it easier to recycle, reduce waste, and support a commitment to move towards zero residual waste to landfill and incineration.
This first phase involves the replacement of current 55 litre recycling boxes with 240 litre wheelie bins.
Lancaster City Council said this was "to increase recycling capacity and reduce contamination rates".
Food waste collections will begin the week after delivery of the caddies, and the waste will be taken to Lancashire County Council’s Farington Waste Recovery Park.
