A terminally ill Lancaster graduate has boarded a flight home to Peru after kind-hearted supporters raised more than £160,000 towards her final wish.
Alexandra Angeles Caycho wanted to spend her final days at her home in South America with her family after being diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
An outpouring of support for Alex, 21, via an online GoFundme page, raised the money in just six days.
She has now boarded a flight with specialist medical staff to look after her en route to Peru.
Her friend Katie Foster posted on Sunday: "Our girl is in the air!
"One stop down and three more to go! We are all of thinking of you Alex.
"This would not be possible without every single one of you. Thank you."
Earlier, she posted:
"I don’t have enough words enough words to thank you all. Your kindness has been so touching and brought so much hope to all of us close to Alex.
"It has been a tough journey for Alex in the hospital and I’m sure the long flight won’t be easy, but we all know Alex will be at peace in a place that once made her happy.
"We will keep you posted on the flight and hopefully share some more snaps of Alex’s journey in the plane."

Alex's boyfriend Dylan Harris posted on Sunday:
"Initially, Alex and her family were going to fly to Peru yesterday but unfortunately, it was postponed due to logistical issues and is now scheduled for today.
"Because of Alex's condition, the flight may need to operate at a lower altitude, which increases fuel consumption and may require additional stops.
"As a result, we will need additional funds to cover these increased costs.
"Any extra funds raised will also help cover other expenses, such as funeral costs if needed.
"As flying plans can change suddenly, we will let you know flights plans as soon as they are confirmed.
"We are now aiming to raise £200,000 to cover these expenses.
"Thank you so much for your continued support."

Alex recently graduated from Lancaster University with a First Honours degree in Fine Art and Design.

She was diagnosed with stage 3 pancreatic cancer on March 17 2023, aged just 20.
Beyond Radio has been following Alex's story and she has also been featured on ITV's Granada Reports programme.
