Three fire engines called to blaze in West End of Morecambe

Crews have tackled a building fire in the West End of Morecambe.

Three fire engines from Morecambe and Lancaster were called to Regent Road at 8.17pm on Sunday.

Witnesses posting on social media that the fire was at some derelict flats.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire and Rescue said: "Fire service crews used six breathing apparatus, three hose reel jets and a positive pressure fan.

"Crews remain in attendance."

A road closure was in place and bus company Stagecoach reported some delays to their 1A service during the incident.
