Train services through Lancaster may be hit by delays and cancellations as Storm Claudia batters the UK.
Northern has advised that a reduced service is running from Windermere/Barrow to Manchester Piccadilly in both directions on Friday amid heavy rain and strong winds in parts of the UK.
There are Met Office weather warnings in place for most of England and Wales.
These warnings do not cover the Lancaster and Morecambe area although rain and gusts of up to 52mph are forecast for Friday.
Northern has advised customers to travel only if it is essential on a number of routes.
Services affected are.
- Rotherham Central - there will be no services to/from Rotherham Central from 16:00 on Friday November 14 until noon on November 15
- Hull - Halifax - services will terminate/start at Bradford Interchange (operating between Hull and Bradford Interchange in both directions)
- Hexham - Battersby - services will terminate/start at Middlesbrough (operating between Hexham and Middlesbrough in both directions).
- Leeds North West - a reduced timetable will operate 09:00 - 16:00 between:
- Leeds - Skipton (both directions)
- Leeds - Ilkley (both directions)
- Leeds - Bradford Forster Square (both directions)
- Ilkley - Bradford Forster Square (both directions)
- A reduced service will operate on the following routes:
- Liverpool Lime Street - Manchester Victoria (both directions)
- Liverpool Lime Street - Wigan North Western (both directions)
- Manchester Victoria - Wigan North Western (both directions)
- Stockport - Chester (both directions)
- Manchester Piccadilly - Stoke/Crewe (both directions)
- Manchester Piccadilly - Hazel Grove (both directions)
- Manchester Piccadilly - Hadfield (both directions)
- Manchester Piccadilly - Alderley Edge (both directions)
- Windermere/Barrow - Manchester Airport (both directions)
- Southport - Manchester Oxford Road (both directions)
- Manchester Piccadilly - Rose Hill (both directions)
- Blackburn - Rochdale (both directions)
- Headbolt Lane - Blackburn (both directions)
- Manchester Piccadilly - New Mills Central (both directions)
- Carlisle - Whitehaven (both directions)
