A popular TV presenter has visited a Heysham pub to film for a new television show.
Helen Skelton was at The Royal at Heysham on Monday to talk about the pub and the village for the Channel 5 series 'Coastal Britain'.
While she was there she enjoyed a homemade steak and ale pie, and chatted to manager Will Kitchen and the team.
Helen posted on her Instagram page @helenskelton that she'd been filming on the North West coast and "may the sun stay shining".
"We’ve had an exciting visitor this evening," said a post on The Royal Facebook page.
"After all the hard work put in over the last few months, we are delighted to say our amazing Inn of character & fabulous village of Heysham have been selected to feature on Channel 5’s 'Coastal Britain'.
"Helen Skelton and her team visited our beautiful 16th century Inn, had dinner and filmed with myself and my team, whilst speaking about all things Heysham!
"It was an absolute pleasure to showcase all Heysham has to offer, how much of a hidden treasure our village is and show the country our incredible property.
"It has showed us the hard work is paying off and we couldn’t do it without our amazing guests, community and visitors!
"Keep your eyes peeled over the next few months, to see Heysham and The Royal in all its glory on Channel 5!
"We couldn’t do it without you!
"Will and the team."
Helen, who is from Cumbria, has presented popular shows including Blue Peter and Countryfile, and finished as a runner-up on Strictly Come Dancing in 2022. During the show, she trained with her dance partner Gorka Marquez at the Storey Centre in Lancaster.
