Two men have been arrested and drugs seized after a high speed car chase on the M6 near Lancaster.
Police found around £10,000 worth of cannabis in a bag in the boot of a Mercedes Class C car after stopping it near to Junction 35 at Carnforth on Monday evening.
Officers had asked for the car to stop at Junction 34 at around 7.15pm but the car continued travelling at high speed on the northbound carriageway and was chased by police, before being brought to a stop at Junction 35.
A 24-year-man was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply, driving with excess drugs, dangerous driving and failing to stop, and a 25-year-old man on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply.
Both were in custody.
Earlier, at around 5:30pm on Monday, officers stopped a black Seat Ibiza at the Forton services on the M6.
After speaking to the driver, officers searched the car under the misuse of drugs act.
Following the search, they found £50,000 in a bag within the car.
The driver, a 32-year-old man from Manchester, was arrested on suspicion of money laundering.
He has since been released under investigation.
