A team of gardeners have been praised after they rushed to help put out a fire and rescue an injured man.
Corey Robson-Mayor, Joe Pullan and Brogan Mayor from Green Touch Tree & Grounds Maintenance used hosepipes and buckets of water from a nearby pond to help extinguish the blaze in a garden on Low Road in Middleton.
Corey said his staff carried the injured man to safety while he tackled the fire, which he was worried would spread to nearby homes.
The team had been working nearby, on the afternoon of Tuesday July 14, when they heard shouts for help.
"It was a really bad fire, loads of wood and a shed was up," said Corey.
"We managed to put it out with hosepipes and buckets of water from a pond nearby.
"The fire brigade said they were amazed that we stopped it, we stopped it spreading to a house right near and potentially saved the man’s life, as he’d fallen near the fire and broken some bones and couldn’t move.
"My staff carried the man to safety while I fought the fire while waiting for the fire brigade."

In a video posted on Green Touch's Facebook page, Corey said: "I'm just glad we were close by and were able to get on the scene fast. Potentially lives could have been lost and homes could have been lost.
"We are super pleased we were there at the right place at the right time."
The team at Green Touch received numerous messages of praise from people commenting on their social media page.
One said: "Well done Corey Robson-Mayor, not all heroes wear capes, some wear gardening gloves."
