A man on a mission to visit every pub in the UK has enjoyed the hospitality of 22 hostelries in Morecambe.

YouTuber Dale Harvey from 'The Great British Pub Crawl' is on a quest to visit all of the UKs pubs and bars, whilst finding the best beers and the best eats along the way.

Former pub landlord Dale, from Nottingham, is documenting his journey on social media with a huge following.

On Wednesday, during a sunny day in Morecambe, he began at the William Mitchell on Westgate, before visiting the Hurley Flyer, The Exchange, The Wellington, The Station, The Crown, the Kings Arms, The Royal Bar & Shaker, The Palatine, The Pestle & Mortar, The Pier, The Smugglers Den, The New Inn, The Morecambe Hotel, The Bull, The Bradford, The Joiners, The Masons, The Lord Nelson, Fusion Sports Bar, The Chieftain and The Eric Bartholomew.

By the time he'd finished his rounds Dale, who has more than 30,000 followers on Instagram and whose YouTube channel has 31,000 subscribers, had visited 9138 pubs nationwide.

His trip to Morecambe was the start of seven straight days on the road visiting pubs up and down the isles.

"I made it up to Morecambe for 12 and kicked off like usual with some on the outskirts on the way in...the first of which was 'The William Mitchell' which is a Punch Pub," he posted on The Great British Pub Crawl Facebook page.

"A large community local with keg only range, a decent pub grub menu, pool table, screens and a kids play area in the garden.

"Stop 2 was just further along that road and sits in the shadow of Morecambe FC's ground. 'The Hurley Flyer' is its name and its a purpose built Marston's place in the same as they all are.

"As I made it down towards the seafront... stop three of the day took me to my first cask ale offering of the day... and there were actually SIX to choose from at 'The Exchange' which is a HUGE old school pub split into two sides.

"Great for the sport, dog friendly and a decent keg range to compliment the large cask line up! Friendly staff and a decent vibe with plenty of live music on offer and 2 pool tables!

"The final one at the South Beach side that I could visit was 'The Wellington' and what a wonderfully friendly little bar this is with a super bunch of locals! Very cheap prices, small keg range and a 9am opening time right by the beach...

"I then headed along the sea front and my next stop was to 'The Station' which is a Greene King place and a beautiful building that still has some impressive features of an old railway station building.

"The next place I found that was actually open was 'The Crown' which is a hotel, bar and bistro serving up affordable meals with a smile on their face... small keg range on the bar and a nice way about the place...

"Opposite the Eric Morecambe statue is a large fun pub called the 'Kings Arms' and this one definitely impressed me! Top staff, 3 cask ales and plenty going on throughout the week. They are VERY dog friendly and even have a doggy menu on offer alongside their human offering... A pool table, great vibe and top experience...

"Two doors down from that is 'The Royal' which has some gorgeous original tiling left in place on one wall and in the entrance way. The rest of the place is quite modern looking and sports a decent keg range on the bar. Also dog friendly with a good food menu...

"Just around the corner from there is 'The Palatine' which is a micropub that used to belong to Lancaster Brewery but has been taken over just a week ago by new guys to be run as a freehouse. A lovely little spot, with 4 cask ales, a great tap range and two lovely pub dogs! Top guys running it and a real gem of a place...

"Speaking of 'gems', it's just a short walk to another newly taken over place... 'The Pestle & Mortar' which also boasts four excellent cask ales and some craft beer amongst the taps! After a refurb and a spruce up to suit the name change, this superb little place has great views out to the beach and a top vibe!

"Next door to that is 'The Pier' which takes it's name from the fact that it used to sit dead opposite the main pier of Morecambe which after a fire, is sadly no more! A lovely looking old pub with decent keg range, a lovely landlady, a pool table and some afternoon bingo going on that had packed the place out...

"I then headed out through the back streets to take in Morecambe's oldest pub...the 'Smugglers Den' which can be dated back 380 years and is an absolute treasure trove of a pub! An exceptional looking little place that is very aptly named and really does feel like a mecca for smugglers of years gone by! A really glorious looking little place, with lovely staff and a great bunch of locals. Great décor that feels eclectic and eccentric all at once and a great feel to it...

"Just around the corner from there is 'The New Inn' which feels like a locals pub but offers a friendly welcome, a pool table, juke box and small keg range. This one feels like it's definitely pretty old too and has been very well looked after...

"Down from there is 'The Morecambe Hotel' which is VERY family friendly so it's either your perfect retreat for a beer with the kids... who can play in their ample beer garden with kids play area included.

"As far as a bar/pub space goes... it's great though, lovely exposed stone walls, 2 cask ales and a great menu...

"Heading back on myself and deep into the backstreets took me to 'The Bull' which is also one of the older pubs of Morecambe for sure and has a glorious looking frontage. A former hotel that has some seriously low ceilings and beams in the bar, a really decent keg range and decent look to it...

"Just around the corner from there is 'The Bradford' which has 2 good cask ales on offer and a large spacious old pub with plenty of screens all over. Good tap mix and good mix of ages using the place early evening...

"Opposite The Bradford is 'The Joiners Arms' which is a Thwaites pub run by a fantastic landlord! Sister pub to The Pier and a super looking place with plenty of space and events on almost every night of the week including Cash Karaoke pretty regularly! Really nice looking back street pub with a great vibe and decent keg only range...

"I headed down that road to 'The Masons' and was met with another lovely looking and spacious old school pub! Top chap running this one as well and four cask ales on the bar as well as a Belgian Blonde in amongst the taps that I'd never tried before! A pool table, decent size beer garden and top vibe!

"From there to 'The Lord Nelson' where I had my arm twisted by the regulars into not one but 2 Sambucas before being allowed on my way haha (as if my arm ever needs much twisting).

The Lord Nelson

"This is a proper party pub offering a late finish and karaoke seven nights a week! Extensive keg range, pool table, friendly young lady on the bar and a top bunch of locals!

"I headed around the corner to 'Fusion Sports Bar' next where the pool team was warming up (and they're decent players for sure) and there was a top vibe as well! Good little sports bar with plenty of screens and a peri peri chicken offering on the food side!

"Up and along to 'The Chieftain' from there which is the local Craft Union pub and carries THREE CASK options which is almost unheard of in a CU pub most of the time! Lovely landladies, great bunch in and a top place to watch the football as there are screens all over this deceptively large pub! Lad on the bar very friendly as were the customers! A very good Craft Union place for sure and plenty of VERY cheap beers!

"My final stop of the night, getting me to a decent 22 for the day before retiring to the Travelodge was the local 'Spoons... 'The Eric Bartholomew' which is a small-ish 'Spoons but does have additional seating upstairs and a few good guest ales on!

"Cheers Morecambe... it was a great day! I'll be back to do the rest very soon!"

Dale said he plans to visit Bare and return to Lancaster, which he visited recently, in the near future.
