Volunteers have spoken out after public toilets in Heysham village were "mindlessly vandalised" over Easter weekend.
Heysham Neighbourhood Community released several photos of the damage to the toilets which a team had worked hard to raise funds, refurbish and open on Thursday.
But within days, "significant and costly damage" was done by vandals on Easter Sunday.
"Heysham Neighbourhood Community volunteers have worked extremely hard to raise funds to refurbish and open the public toilets in Heysham Village," said a post on their Facebook page on Monday.
"We were very pleased to be able to open the toilets to the public again on Thursday.
"Unfortunately yesterday, Easter Sunday, they were mindlessly vandalised … see pictures below.

"Our community has pulled together today to make the toilets as accessible as possible, until the significant and costly damage done, can be replaced.
"We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause and would kindly ask that all visitors make sure the main door is closed after you have tapped to pay your 50p to enter.
"All of the money paid goes to keeping this facility open.
"Our daily costs this year to facilitate the opening of the toilets is £30.
"Could everyone remain vigilant and report any concerns to us. Many thanks.
"So upsetting we all work so hard to make a positive difference in our village."
A QR code is available at the Heysham Neighbourhood Community page for anyone wanting to donate to the resident-run group to help with repairs.
Last Easter the toilets in Heysham village reopened for the first time in many years.

Heysham Neighbourhood Community had agreed a three year lease of the building from Lancaster City Council to keep the toilets open to the public.
They had been mainly closed since 2018, and one of the main reasons for this was the constant vandalism of the facilities.
