Police are appealing for information after a motorcyclist died following a collision in Cockerham yesterday on Saturday evening.
Officers were called to the A588 Lancaster Road at 6.23pm following reports of a serious collision involving a Yamaha YZF R6 and a Toyota Hi-Lux pickup truck.
The rider of the motorcycle, a man in his 20s from Blackpool, suffered multiple serious injuries. He was taken to hospital where he sadly died. The driver of the Toyota was not injured and nobody has been arrested.
Sgt Steve Hardman, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This collision has resulted in a man losing his life and my thoughts are with his loved ones at this extremely difficult time.
“We are working to establish a full picture of what occurred and I would ask any witnesses or anybody with dashcam or CCTV footage which could assist our enquiries to get in contact with police. Similarly, I would ask anybody who witnessed either vehicle in the moments prior to the collision to please get in touch.”
The road was closed for five hours for crash investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to email 2385@lancashire.police.uk or call 101, quoting log 1306 of October 8, 2021.
