Beyond Radio presenter Phil McGrath was among the local people to take part in this year's Great North Run.
Phil, who is having treatment for non-curative lung cancer, ran the world's largest half marathon on Sunday in a time of two hours and 54 minutes and afterwards said "I'm chuffed with that!"
The Quick Draw Radio show host ran the 13.1 miles from Newcastle-upon-Tyne to South Shields to raise money for Citizens Advice, where he works.
It was the fifth time he has taken part in the Great North Run, and this year was part of his '60 Before 60' Challenge where he is doing 60 things he's never done before, ahead of his 60th birthday in April.
He is also facing his own personal challenge, as he is being treated for non-curative lung cancer, after twice beating cancer before.

Other local people taking part included crossfit trainers Gareth Peter Blackburn from Morecambe (below), Gary Parish from Morecambe and Shaun Mcgloughlin from Lancaster who ran to raise money for CancerCare.

Laura Speake from Morecambe ran for St John's Hospice in memory of her brother Merv Evans, a Lancaster city councillor who died in 2022. She ran alongside Merv's son-in-law Ross.

Nikki Marshall from Halton and her friends Katie Clarkson, Katie's husband Bryan, and Heidi Keates, ran for The Lily Foundation, the UK's leading mitochondrial disease charity. They were inspired to run by Nikki's three-year-old daughter Ruby, who has Pearsons syndrome, a rare life limiting disease.
And Niall Cowperthwaite, Karen Povey, Tom Kilifin, Kyle Lewis, Ella Rogers and Abby MacPherson, ran to raise money for baby bereavement charity Abigail's Footsteps in memory of Niall's son Marley.
