A police inspector said two arrests were made after an assault in Lancaster amid concerns over ongoing anti-social behaviour in the city centre and on a housing estate.
Detective Inspector Adie Knowles said one youth was arrested for assault and one for a public order offence.
Det Insp Knowles said a couple had to pull over and intervene after seeing youths assaulting a man near Cable Street in Lancaster city centre.
He said this was part of "a bigger picture of continuing issues in the city centre"
Speaking on his regular Beyond the Beat slot on Beyond Radio on Tuesday, Det Insp Knowles also said there had been a "definite upturn of anti-social behaviour among young people between around 11 and 17" on the Ridge estate in Lancaster.
He said they were "being anti social, abusive, using BB guns, riding around on e-bikes and disturbing the community centre".
"The Neighbourhood Policing Team are aware of it," said Det Insp Knowles.
"People who do live on the Ridge estate - the more you tell us, the more we can do. Please report that kind of behaviour to us.
"There are dedicated anti-social behaviour patrols on an evening and there is the Neighbourhood Policing Team that will respond to it.
"A crime in progress, people damaging stuff, people using BB guns to pot shot windows, please call 999."
