The new home for a multi-million pound scheme to improve the West End of Morecambe has been revealed.
Pride in Place will open an office in a former launderette on the corner of Alexandra Road and Brunswick Road in mid-July, it was announced this week.
The new office will be a base for Pride in Place staff, volunteers and community groups to use. Residents will also be able to find out more about Pride in Place and how to get involved.
The £20m government programme will see £2m a year spent over 10 years on improvement schemes to the area, the nature of which will be decided by a board, with local people placed firmly at the heart of every decision.
The Pride in Place group is overseen by a Neighbourhood Board made up of dedicated volunteers from the community and chaired by Helen Bingley OBE, former High Sheriff of Lancashire.
They aim to ensure the group reflects the priorities and ambitions of residents and businesses in the West End.
The government announced the scheme in September 2025, saying they wanted to improve the West End and put local people at the heart of decision making.
