Boy, 11, arrested on suspicion of assaulting police officer at scene of Lancaster fire

The police closed Parliament Street while firefighters put out a fire in new build student apartments

An 11-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer at the scene of a major fire in Lancaster.

The boy was arrested this afternoon following an incident near a police cordon on Parliament Street.

Police had sealed off the road while fire crews extinguished a nearby fire in a new build student apartment block.
