The Winter Gardens in Morecambe is set to host an Esports and Cosplay event for the first time ever.
The event on Saturday May 24 from noon to 4pm will include competitive gaming, a Cosplay competition and much more - and is free admission.
Esports, short for electronic sports, is a form of competition using video games, and is massively popular around the world.
It usually takes the form of multi-player competitions, particularly between professional players, played individually or as teams.
A LAN tournament - an esports event where participants compete against each other connected via a local area network (LAN) - will also be held.
Local schools/teams can register in advance to submit their team and be invited to come and play on stage in front of an audience.
There will also be an Overwatch/Rocket League (dependent upon interest/sign ups).
Other activities will include SIM rig racing, arcade/retro gaming, an Esports Information Station, a Minecraft build competition, design an esports jersey and more.
A production crew will also be live streaming the entire event.
There will be a livestream section on the floor for talent and special guests to stream from, along with a commentators room for a commentator to cast the games for both the crowd and livestream
The event is presented by the Esports_LMC team at Lancaster & Morecambe College.
